Project Progress

Launch

The project was launched with a workshop held on 10th September, 2008 from 8.30 am to 2.00pm at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Lenana room. The objective of the workshop was to incorporate input from key stakeholders in this sector, organized
half-day workshop on. The aim of this workshop was to launch the study and get inputs from stakeholders on the research design and data collection tools.View workshop details here

Phase 1

Phase 1 of the project involved data collection in Kenya, South Africa and United States.

The research team completed the first phase of data collection in December 2008 the results of this phase were presented to stakeholders in at the Midterm workshop held on 10th December, 2008 from 8.30 am to 2.00pm at Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Lenana room. Phase 2

Phase 2 of the project involved data collection in India,  UK  and Mauritius.

The research team started and completed the second phase of data collection in April 2009 this included visiting India, Mauritius and UK.

The team in the process of preparations for a KICTANET discussion of initial findings that enrich the findings to be presented in a stakeholders' workshop at the end of June.

Conclusion

The team held a workshop at Kenyatta International Conference Center(KICC)on 1st July 2009 from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm to share the study findings and obtain further input from stakeholders for incorporation into the final document.
The team is in the process of preparing the final document wich will be disseminated at a later date.
